Individual Supervision and Case Consultation

I specialize in working with licensed professional counseling interns who are actively trained and interested in incorporating experiential/creative arts therapy approaches into their work. I also supervise dance and expressive arts therapists, and consult with body oriented psychotherapists to deepen their clinical practice.

My theoretical framework incorporates psychodynamic and attachment theory, and my approach to supervision supports understanding the complex dynamics between therapist and client within the therapeutic relationship.

Ongoing Consultation Groups

Ongoing groups help therapists deepen clinical work, develop internal resources and build a strong network of personal support. Experiential nonverbal approaches (including writing, visual art and movement) are integrated along with verbal processing. Each group evolves in relationship to the unique needs, priorities, and intentions of the group members. These include:

  • Engaging creativity to build internal resilience and address compassion fatigue.
  • Learning/practicing specific approaches such as authentic movement, sensory and somatic exploration.
  • Deepening clinical effectiveness in navigating verbal and nonverbal methods.
  • Exploring transference and countertransference material and content from challenging cases.
  • Wholistic approaches to practice building.
  • Ethics and best practices for integrating verbal and nonverbal approaches in psychotherapy.
  • The small group format provides thoughtful and engaged support.
  • Reading topics may include: recent publications on attachment, developmental neurobiology,
somatic psychology, dance/movement therapy and modern analytic theory.
